Terms of use
Last updated 19 October 2026
These terms cover your use of TapMap (tapmap.beer), run by Sean Charleston in New Zealand. By using TapMap you agree to them; if you don't, please don't use it. How TapMap handles your information is in the privacy policy.
Who can use TapMap
- You must be 18 or over.
- One account per person. Don't create or use extra accounts to sway votes.
Google Maps
TapMap's map, place search and photos come from Google. Using them means you also agree to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
What you post
- You are responsible for your votes, comments, dog endorsements and reports.
- Votes and comments should reflect your own, honest experience of a bar.
- Don't post anything unlawful, defamatory, hateful, harassing or sexually explicit, anything that infringes someone else's rights, or other people's personal information. No spam or advertising.
- Don't try to manipulate the map: no fake accounts, paid or coordinated voting, or automated use beyond what a person browsing would do.
- What you write stays yours. You give TapMap a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store and show it as part of the service, which ends when you delete it, apart from copies in backups until they are overwritten.
Moderation
Moderators can remove comments and hide bars, and accounts that break these terms can be suspended or deleted, with or without notice. A bar's verdict comes from votes. Some experienced users' votes carry extra weight, but nobody can pay for a verdict.
The information on TapMap
Verdicts, comments and dog endorsements are other people's opinions, not TapMap's, and may be out of date or wrong. Check with a bar before you go, especially about opening hours and whether dogs are welcome. Please drink responsibly.
Tips
Tips through Buy Me a Coffee are voluntary. They don't buy features, influence, or a different verdict for any bar.
Availability and liability
TapMap is free and provided as it is. It may change, have outages, or stop. To the extent the law allows, TapMap and Sean Charleston are not liable for any loss that comes from using TapMap or relying on it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under New Zealand law that cannot be excluded.
Leaving
You can stop using TapMap and delete your account from the menu at any time.
Changes
These terms may be updated; the date at the top shows when. Using TapMap after a change means you accept the new terms.
Law
These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and New Zealand courts deal with any dispute.
